45%= 45/100= 0.45
Percent, fraction and decimal are one value.

  1. 1Convert to fractions/decimals to compute: 35% = 35/100.
  2. 2Discount price = original × (100 − d)%.
  3. 3For '% of remainder', redraw the bar for the remainder first.
  4. 4Check: parts must add up to 100%.
Worked example
  1. 1Girls = 100% − 35% = 65% of total.
  2. 265% of total = 260, so 1% = 4.
  3. 3Total = 100 × 4 = 400.
